Sorry for the long wait for an update - we've had a very busy past couple months. The kids keep us busy, of course, and we've been hanging out with the many visitors too, but maybe it's just that Paris has so much to do. After celebrating Atlas' birthday at the beginning of November, we quickly geared up for the start of the holiday season. We had a great Thanksgiving that somehow combined lots of French and American elements - turkey stuffed with chestnuts, truffled mashed potatoes, homemade pumpkin pie with chantilly cream. It was all very yummy. The day after Thanksgiving, Adham got the chance to speak about the most American of holidays with a couple groups of high school English classes in the central French town of Vierzon. He was even written up in the local newspaper about it!

December accelerated the pace of holiday preparations, as we struggled to get cards written and presents sent. There were also lots of gatherings to attend, including a grand soiree at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in their formal reception halls - caviar and truffles were served, but even better were the mounds of gourmet chocolate from some of the country's best confectioners.

In the new year we're looking forward to having a few more opportunities to visit friends in Europe and see more of our regional neighborhood. It finally feels like we have our feet on the ground in Paris and that we're ready to venture further afield.

Here are some pictures from the past couple months to catch you up.
