November in Paris...chestnuts roasting on the streets, the Eiffel Tower blinking with a thousand strobe lights after dark, streets decorated with Christmas lights - not a bad place to be at all. The past month has been lots of fun for us, as we've had many visitors come through town and stay with us. Thanks to Myo, Melanie and Sue, Stefan, Uncle Lennie, and Denise & family for coming to visit! We also continued our visiting places outside of Paris, including our first real trip away, to Normandy and Brittany.

Tasman and Atlas are loving life here, picking up French quickly and seeming to feel right at home in this big city. The bulk of the job of decorating our apartment is now done, which also helps it feel more like home. Work at the Embassy for Adham has been busy and fulfilling, and it's such a big place that he's still meeting new people there three months after starting work. The job of General Services Officer can cover wide territory, but here it is mostly managing the Embassy's housing and shipping programs, plus a number of other responsibilities.

Atlas turned a big three at the beginning of November; he had some of his classmates over, and we also had Stefan visiting from the U.S. at that time, who was able to assist with the impromptu puppet show. Tasman's Kindergarten class is something he looks forward to every day; neither kid has seemed to have suffered too much from the transition to a full day schedule. That helps Crystal get some of the basics done when the kids are in school - that is, when the French transport unions aren't on strike, as they are currently. Never a dull moment.
