August brought some fun new changes to our lives - for one, Tasman started his Pre-K class at this new school, and so far really seems to like it. It was great for us to hear him say the other night, "I don't ever want to leave my school!" There are 15 in his class, from the US, England, Holland, Australia, Germany, Sweden, Japan, Malaysia, and Denmark, and we were pleased to learn that the teacher has 17 years of early childhood education background.

Atlas continues to grow by leaps and bounds. In the past month his two front teeth have come in on the top, and he now uses his grand total of four pearly whites with gusto - we heard somewhere that a child's stomach is the same size as its fist, but he regularly eats a quantity of food at one sitting that would have a hard time fitting in our hands. His current favorites include grated cheese, bite-sized chunks of cooked vegetables, and squished mango.

Adham's work continues well; he's recently been asked to sit on the embassy's housing board, which will be offer him the chance to look at potential new houses to added to the leased pool, as well as help make housing assignment decisions for new people arriving at post.

Crystal keeps her hands full with two young boys, and generally keeping our hectic life under control. She always has a way of figuring out how to keep our lives happy and in balance.

We don't get too many visitors here in Dhaka, but this past month we did have the honor of hosting FSO colleague Prince Roy, who was here from Chennai, India for a short while, doing a job exchange with one of our consular officers. This is one of the nice options we have being in South Asia; the Embassies and Consulates in this part of the world are generally very open to having junior officers come spend a couple weeks to see how things are different or similar. We're thinking ahead to next year sometime, when we may wish to do an exchange with Nepal or Sri Lanka... Stay tuned!
